Fresh new space for Carrington retirement living residents

Retirement living at Bolton Clarke Carrington has received a fresh new space with a purpose-built community hall.

Residents took their first look at the new shared space featuring a private library, billiards room, office space and oversized kitchen and dining area.

Carrington resident Lynn says it’s now the perfect area to come to for activities or to simply relax.

“We have all been eager to see the finished product and now that it’s here, it’s absolutely amazing and more than what I expected,” Lynn said.

“I love this main big area, but the library is absolutely beautiful – I can just imagine sitting in there with a cup of coffee.

“We all now have a really nice place to come and relax. It’s always nice to have a change in scenery and a new environment, so this does just that for us.”

The space has had a refresh from being an open, single-use area to now offer a unique layout to enhance acoustics, usability and accessibility for residents of the village and the co-located residential care home.

Bolton Clarke Carrington Village Manager Ayshea says it has created a more welcoming space that was built with the residents’ activities in mind.

“We had the space here but the acoustics weren’t great and it wasn’t an inviting space to use if there were multiple activities happening at the same time, so this is a fantastic update to make the space usable and comfortable for residents,” Ayshea said.

“My first look at the space was with the residents so that was really special to have that initial impression with them.

“It’s brighter, more inviting and as long as the residents are happy, I’m happy!”
